Eldritch Heart is very much a purpose-over-algorithm type of studio.

It might not be “smart,” but it’s a lot of fun.

History

Eldritch Heart was created by Blake Morgan in 2016 by making simple arcade games in Unity3D during his lunch hour at work. After one certain project that could only be described as “pong with lasers” caught the attention of curious coworkers, he began leaving the game running on an empty desk nearby. Seeing people play together who didn’t normally speak to each other gave him an idea: Finish the game and let more people play it.

That one project ended up becoming his first release, “Don’t Explode.” A one-keyboard, two-player game loaded with lasers and powerups. A couple of years later, the next and much bigger project, “Junebug vs. Evil,” entered early access on Steam. Closing in on the official launch, with several games waiting to leave the prototype stage, Junebug is looking better than ever.

Why the name change? “Bemoworld” just never felt right and was meant to be changed a long time ago. Oh well!
